Yellow Spot Irish Whiskey

Yellow Spot Irish Whiskey is crafted at the renowned Midleton Distillery in County Cork, Ireland. This distillery is known for producing some of the finest Irish whiskeys, including the entire Spot range. This Yellow Spot is a Single Pot Still Irish whiskey crafted from a blend of malted and unmalted barley. This combination contributes to its distinctive, rich flavor profile. First, barley is ground into refined grains, mixed with fresh Irish water to make mash, and then left to ferment. After fermentation, the mash is triple distilled in traditional copper pot stills to enhance the whiskey's smoothness and complexity with 46% alcohol by volume (ABV).

Yellow Spot is aged for a minimum of 12 years in three types of oak casks American bourbon barrels, which add vanilla and caramel notes, Spanish sherry butts that impart rich, fruity flavors and Malaga casks, which were previously used for sweet fortified wines, impart an exotic sweetness to the whiskey.

Yellow Spot Irish Whiskey is not infused with additional flavors, but whiskey enthusiasts frequently experiment with home infusions. Common additions include chocolate, coffee, and spices, which can create unique flavor profiles. It also pairs beautifully with various foods, such as aged cheddar or blue cheese, creme brulee or apple pie, and savory dishes like grilled meats or rich stews. This whiskey has won the Ultimate Spirits Challenge 2017 Chairman's Trophy, the San Francisco World Spirits Challenge 2017 awarded a Silver medal, the International Spirits Challenge 2017 awarded a Gold medal, and the Beverage Tasting Institute 2016 awarded a Gold medal.
